Louise judge on BBC's So You Think You Can Dance
Jan 2010 - Louise joins Nigel Lythgoe, previously a judge on the Pop Idol show, and the former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips on the BBC One dancing competition.
The programme pits budding dance stars against each other as they battle it out for the chance to appear on the US version of the show in Hollywood and pocket a £100,000 prize.
Each week contestants will be challenged to perform a different dance style taught by a different choreographer and mentor.
Dancers will have to impress not only the judges but also the public who have the power to vote for their favourite dancers at the end of each show.
Redknapp, who is married to the former Liverpool footballer, Jamie Redknapp, has already judged auditions and Choreography Camp, helping select the 14 finalists.
She said: ''I'm so excited about this opportunity. I went through similar dance training as a lot of the kids competing, so I know where they're coming from.
''The opportunity this show offers them is phenomenal, and I can't wait to be part of the live shows.''
Since starting her career with 1990s chart-topping girlband Eternal, Redknapp has embarked on a solo career before moving into television presenting.
Lythgoe, who is head judge, said: ''Louise joined us as a guest judge during the Manchester leg of the auditions and we loved her - she brought something different to the panel and she had a great affinity with the kids up there dancing for their lives. When it came to thinking about the live shows, we kept coming back to Louise. She is perfect for the job.''
Seven girls and seven boys made it through the auditions to be selected for the live shows.
The programme is launched on Saturday, January 3 on BBC One at 6pm.
Redknapps front new Thomas Cook campaign
Dec 2009 - Thomas Cook today (26 December) rolls out its new TV ad featuring ex-England footballer Jamie Redknapp and former pop star wife Louise Redknapp.
The TV, print, radio, outdoor and digital ad, by ad agency Campbell Lace Beta, includes the long-running strapline ‘Don't Just Book it. Thomas Cook it'.
It follows YouGov research, commissioned by the tour operator, which suggests consumers place their overseas summer holiday as their most important annual purchase.
Thomas Cook is also offering free kids places, pre-school family offers, single parent family offers, and free meals for kids on selected holidays.
‘The research has proved, in these continued times of recession, just how sacrosanct an foreign holiday is to the British public,' said Ian Derbyshire, chief executive of Thomas Cook UK & Ireland.
Jamie and Louise Redknapp said: ‘Thomas Cook is a trusted British brand that we've grown up with and we've really enjoyed working together on this beautiful ad.'
Something for the Weekend
Dec 2009 - Louise Redknapp is the new presenter on breakfast show Something For The Weekend, the BBC said.
The former chart star joins Tim Lovejoy and chef Simon Rimmer on the Sunday morning chat and cookery show in January. She said: "Working with Tim and Simon and presenting live is an exciting prospect - it will definitely brighten up my Sunday mornings."
Liam Keelan, BBC daytime controller, said: "Louise seems like a natural fit for the series which has gone from strength to strength over the last two years."
Louise - who is replacing nutritionist Amanda Hamilton, who leaves the show at the end of this year - found fame in the 90s with soul group Eternal before launching a solo career, selling more than four million records in the UK alone. Her TV credits include UKTV Style's The Clothes Show, Five's reality show The Farmer Wants A Wife and a three-week stand-in run on Something For The Weekend.
Something For The Weekend, now in its third year, is regularly watched by more than one million viewers and held a peak audience share of over 15 per cent.
